Born in 1945, Roderick David Stewart is still considered to this day to be one of the best selling artists of all time. This British heart-throb is best known for his romantic solo work, although his career didn't start there. He first came to prominence in the late 1960s as part of The Jeff Beck Group and then Faces. His solo career really took flight in 1969, and since that time, he's continued to win over the hearts of people worldwide, while at the same time selling over 100 million records. Along with this astonishing accomplishment, Rod Stewart has also managed to make his way into Q Magazine's top 100 "Singers of All Time" and the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.
